A 2D space engineering sandbox
You start in the void with a hand drill and a pod that leaks air. You end with a reactor-powered carrier you welded together one block at a time — and every one of those blocks has to actually work. Power is a budget. Conveyors have to physically reach. Oxygen runs out.
There is no decorative block in this game. Place a solar panel where a hull section shades it and it produces nothing. Cut the conveyor line between your drill and your refinery and the ore stops moving. That is the whole game.

Tubes, angles, sorters and distributors — routed by hand. Ore only reaches the refinery if you built a path it can travel. Otherwise you are carrying it yourself.
Sealed rooms hold air. A hull breach vents it. Ice becomes oxygen in the generator, tanks buffer the rest, and your suit is the last thirty seconds you have.
Thrust fights the mass you actually built. Add armour and your ship handles like it. Gyros turn you, inertial dampeners stop you, and gravity does not forgive a heavy lander.
Raw ore into ingots, ingots into components, components into the next block you place. Every ship on screen came out of that loop.
Alien drones hunt by proximity and chew through hull on contact. Turrets, laser guns and armour plating are how you keep the base you spent six hours on.
Rotators and pistons make one grid into two that stay connected — folding solar arrays, extending drill rigs, doors that are actually machinery.
Clamp a shuttle to a carrier and they fly as one. Host a session, bring friends in over the network and share the base — or don't, and find out what they do with a grinder.
Cockpits, control panels and operation groups let you bind a whole subsystem to one button — then save the finished ship as a blueprint and build it again anywhere.
All 46 of them, straight out of the build — grouped the same way the game groups them. The number after each name is the grid footprint, because on a ship that is the constraint you actually design around.

MineEngineer is made by one person. I wanted Space Engineers' honesty about engineering — where a ship is only as good as the systems you actually wired into it — without the 3D barrier that stops most people at the first hangar.
So it is 2D, it is pixel art, and it does not simplify the part that matters. The demo is out now and I read every message on Discord.
